some problem in energy consumption in ad hoc networks

Posted by Maryam Bakht at 2006-06-22 11:02 AM
As a case in the data sheet of "CISCO AIRONET 350 SERIES CLIENT ADAPTERS" we can see that there is 6 Available Transmit Power Settings (100mW, 50mW, 30mW, 20mW, 5mW and 1mW) and Typical Power Consumption (at 100 mW transmit power setting) is 450mA in transmit, 270mA in receive and 15mA in sleep mode.
I know that E = P*time and P=V * I.
If you want to use this NIC which one do you use to compute energy consumption in sending data (100mW or 450*5 = 2250mW)???
